The concert is already behind, but the melody and the words are still echoing in my head:
“Ты никогда не бывал в нашем городе светлом
Над вечерней рекой не мечтал до зари
С друзьями ты не бродил по широким проспектам
Значит, ты не видал лучший город Земли!…”
You can call it nostalgia. You can call it a memory. Or maybe… love…
There is something deeply rooted in the Russian soul — a cultural code, a natural connection with art, a special ability to understand, appreciate, and create beauty. In music, literature, painting, theatre, ballet… This love for beauty is something many of us carry within from childhood.
In June, Qatar hosted the wonderful “Kvartirnik: Everyone Plays” festival, dedicated to Russia Day and supported by the Government of Moscow and the Moscow House of Compatriots.
The evening felt like a warm gathering of friends rather than just a concert. On the improvised stage, young talents performed alongside professional musicians. The youngest artist was only four years old — yet the passion, confidence, and joy of every performer were truly inspiring.
P.S. It was not easy to remember my mission — to be a witnessed the moment and preserved it… I constantly found myself wanting to put my camera down and simply applaud the young artists.
… some moments are not just photographed — they are felt 🧡
